Now that they have a tattoo number, they will be entered into the pedigree program. Unless they've already been named, this is when I like to name them. That way I can one-time print out a complete pedigree with name and tattoo number. Naming the rabbits is a puzzle, some names just jump out to fit them. I keep a list of names I like but it has to fit the rabbit. Otherwise I won't remember and associate it with that particular bunny. Some names are spin-offs of their parent's name, which helps remind me who they are related to.
Other names are completely whimsical or a play on words. I once had a litter of 3 sisters who were named, Helen Wheels; Helen Back and Helen Highwater. There was a ruby eyed white buck called Marshmellow Man, a black buck named Black Marvel and a chestnut agouti called Rudy the Agouti. All named in fun. After being in rabbits for 30 years now, I've heard some real doozies. I picked up a "Baby Names" book recently. We'll see what happens with that!
