One product, VetRX, used to be advertised in ARBA's Domestic Rabbit Magazine. Even the product name is supposed to give it creditability, like Veternarian's endorse it. I called the D7 Director at the time and asked him why ARBA would put such a reckless ad in their magazine, non-endorsement disclaimer or not. He said he hadn't really noticed the ad. The ad had "testimonies" of happy, satisfied buyers' first name, last initial and state they lived in. I went thru the ARBA Yearbook using this information and did not find one single matching ARBA member's name. Bogus! I've noticed the ads are no longer DR but you see the product for sale in various rabbit equipment dealers catalogs and feed stores.
There are probably other products out there that state the same result, we can cure snuffles. There are vets out there giving Baytril, which also doesn't cure it. Don't let them fool you. It is heartbreaking to lose animals and if you are in rabbits long enough, you will probably experience it. But don't let some "snake oil" product cost you more losses or worse, take "treated" animals to shows exposing others or sell "treated" sick animals that get introduced into another person's healthy herd. Be responsible and do the right thing.
