Alison called and said they were going back into rabbits and showing. I could hear the excitement as plans took place for getting equipment and animals. I told her the two biggest changes that have taken place as far as showing goes is that there are double shows and no one uses coops cards anymore. It may be different in their area but seems the norm in most states. I told her even with shows being doubles and less time is available to socialize, people are more in a hurry to show and leave than ever before. Youth are more involved in school sports and other hobbies that circumvent their going to every show.
A good sized group of us used to get together for potlucks, card parties and just plain visiting and that seems to have gone away too. Rabbit people don't seem to meet in groups anymore. Individuals might visit one another's rabbitry. Other than that it is strictly meet-ups at shows and club meetings.
