BBF's Over the Top took Best of Breed, that makes 7 Grand Champ legs for him under 6 different judges. BBF's Wysteria (a Wyeth daughter) took Best Opposite and her first leg. Wysteria likes to lift one ear when excited on the table but her body is super duper. Hope to get her photo up soon.
We were back in the regular show ring which seems better IMO. Quite a few new faces from out of state which is nice that they travel a ways to attend one of our shows. Folks again commented positively on the awards and lots of stuff on the overflowing raffle table.
Cumberland Cty RBA has their next show on Sunday, Sept. 27th during the fair. It is a really nice fair. You can drive onto the grounds in the a.m. and then park across the street. When you are done, golf carts will take your carriers to a special gated parking area to load up for going home. Noise-wise there is a goat show that shares the same arena which is annoying as their judge comments over a loudspeaker which competes with us trying to hear our judge's microphone-free comments. But all in all a nice show.
The fair association pays premiums for the fair show, the club provides awards for the regular show. It's nice to get a check with your show report, sometimes paying back half your entry fee or more if your rabbits showed well. Few shows give paybacks anymore, they are done on a sliding scale depending on how many are in the class. It is double Open, double Youth, double Cavy. Mark your calendars and get a catalog early next month from the D7 Facebook page or the ARBA show page.
