There are many "jobs", let me rephrase that to... There are many "opportunities" to help out at Convention. You can choose to help out for an hour or a day, it is up to you. It lightens the load from the local HL group who have already undoubtedly put in many planning and preparing hours to host their national club members before Convention even starts. Here are a few, pick your niche.
HLRSC Booth - The club booth is where a lot of action takes place. People buy Trio Raffle tickets, buy supplies like HLRSC logo clothing, check in with questions about the banquet or HL auction, they ask general questions about Holland Lops, buy memberships, meet folks from across the country and connect buyers and sellers.
Supplies - I bet you already know the club sells items like clothing with the HLRSC logo on it. I bet you might not know it isn't to make a lot of profit. It is a way for the club to fulfill their Mission by promoting the breed while providing a one-stop Holland Lop shop for the membership. Wearing the logo-wear at your local shows draws attention to the breed and hopefully helps you make some sales and connect with folks who also love Hollands. It can get busy at times, finding the correct size and favored color tee or sweatshirt. Helping with these sales is good for the club and a way to meet other HL folks. The Club Treasurer is the designated cashier and can sure use your help in retrieving items folks want to buy. No one likes to stand in line long anywhere, much less at a busy convention booth.
Trio Tickets - Counting out Trio tickets and putting them in the drawing box can speed the process along for those looking to buy raffle tickets on our wonderful HL Trio.
Memberships - The booth is where folks come to either join the club or renew their membership. Both need to fill out a form with their name and address, check off type of membership and include their membership dues. Envelopes are provided to place each membership request/renewal and payment.
An upcoming blog will be about Show Day and being a Rabbit Runner/Wrangler!
