Elsewhere in the newspaper was the Dr. Q & A column regarding Wry neck. A human patient was asking questions about their case of wry neck. Knowing that rabbits get Wry neck, I wanted to see any similarities between us humans and rabbits. A few causes not in common, that we know of, that were mentioned were genetic or caused by medications. A breakthrough treatment they mentioned believe it or not was Botox! Injections of Botox into the contracted neck muscles relax them for 3-4 months. Surgery on the nerves leading to the muscle contraction was once a common treatment. Another newer treatment is deep brain stimulation. I don't even want to think about how they do that one. Anyway, I thought it was interesting and hadn't realized that humans contracted Wry neck also.
