Cumberland put on a good show and there were some nice Hollands there. The judges handled them well.
Not much to show as I didn't breed over the winter, so only 5 BBF bunnies went to the show on Saturday, Feb. 13th. There was 1 solid jr buck, 1 broken sr buck, 1 broken jr buck and 2 broken jr does that went.
It's frustrating to have a senior buck that looks "oh so nice" in the carrier or cage and then is a totally different animal on the show table. So it was to the bottom or near bottom of the class he went. Oh well, someone got a grand champ leg out of it, still good. About the same with the solid junior buck, he is a decent little buck but was simply outclassed his first time out and will likely turn senior before the next show.
The broken junior buck didn't overtake the broken senior buck for Best Broken. But the two broken junior does did real well. In Show A, a yet unnamed first timer broken tort junior doe took Best Opposite Broken and went on to win Best Opposite of Breed. In Show B, BBF's Delight, a broken blue tort junior doe took Best Opposite Broken and Best Opposite of Breed. Delight took Best Opposite Broken at the January show, so this was her second leg. Not sure if she will get shown as a senior doe or simply become a momma instead of going for that third grand champion leg.
There was even time between Show B and BIS to go out to lunch at Cole Farms Restaurant and talk more bunnies with Marie H. After lunch we returned for BIS Show B where Marie H. won RIS with her Best of Breed Black SSB Holland Lop.
That reminds me, I haven't blogged the January show, will do that too.
