The club has tried a new approach using a small hardcover 3-ring binder. New pages can be added and old ones removed. It'll be much easier to keep current if there are changes to the Constitution & By-laws, the Standard, guidelines and rules. New pages can be printed in the Hollander for members to have the most up-to-date info kept right in their guidebook. In the long run, the binder cost will be absorbed when guidebook reprints are done. The Netherland Dwarf club uses the binder format also, probably other clubs do or will so soon.
Many years ago a Dominion club member (Dominion is Canada's equivalent to ARBA) who purchased a BBF bunny was kind enough to join me up as a Thank You. The Dominion club used the small hardcover ring binder back then.
I also have Bob Bennett's shiny new BIG book titled, "Rabbit Housing" , published by Storey Publishing. It is about planning, building and equipping facilities for raising healthy rabbits. Bob featured a few rabbitries including my own. Bob has raised rabbits for over 50 years and has probably seen a ton of rabbitry setups or at least heard of them. He gleaned the best ideas and setups and put them in this book.
The ISBN # is 978-1-60342-966-5. Perhaps your local Tractor Supply or feedstore has it in stock. If not, ask them to order it. Check out Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Publisher's price is $19.95. Getting just one idea of this is worth the price and it'll last longer than a bag of grain! I'll write a book review on it once I've read throught it. It looks chock-full of illustrations, photos and drawings.
Bob's book, "Raising Rabbits the Modern Way" was one of my first rabbit raising books back in the early 80's that I treated like a bunny bible. It covered just about every question I had as a new rabbit owner. It is now called "Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits".
